We often see people worrying about living in the past. If few brains get the feeling to quit, few step back with the feeling of fear. But Mohammed Shams Aalam who was having challenging times ever since he was young, pulled himself up in every stage of his life. It started with taking care of himself at a very young age when he moved to Mumbai for his studies and continued with the same spirit even when he had down time at the age of 23.

If getting quality education was his primary goal, becoming a Karate champion was his dream. But an unexpected spinal tumour in 2010 crashed everything. He was certified 100% disabled after having many surgeries to cure life threatening tumours. Knowing he couldn’t walk anymore nor control his body made him go to depression.

However that didn’t stop him from making a mark as champion world wide. Despite being disabled completely, he learned swimming himself to regenerate his nervous system initially and made it as a profession later building confidence. His self confidence drove him to great undertakings and surprised everyone in setting world records.

We may have things that weigh heavy in heart but never let them reach your head. It’s important to remember that, “Fear of anything makes you lose it everytime. Never give up even when there is no hope. Just aim big and keep working for it.“

Hope Shams life journey in short on how he succeeded despite adversity with true passion inspires you.
